Iraq, a country in western Asian continent, bordered by Turkey to the north, Iran to the east, Persian gulf and Kuwait to the Southeast, Saudia Arabia to the Suth, Jordan to the Southwest and Syria to the west, is home to diverse ethnic groups including Mesopotamian Arabs, Kurds, Turkmens, Assyrians, Armenians, Yazidis, Sabian-Mandaens, Persians Shabakis, and with diverse geography and wildlife.
Baghdad
The capital and largest city is Baghdad, and has long been an important regional trading hub.
Commercial Activities
Oil, mining, manufacturing, construction, and agriculture are the major types of goods and services produced for sale. At the same time, Iraq’s stability and safety, coupled with first class education, healthcare, transportation and world-class entertainment and leisure facilities have attracted highly skilled professionals to settle with their families.
Tourism
Currently, the government has made some efforts to boost tourism to the various destinations in the country. The domestic tourism has also seen improvements, as numerous sites from Iraq’s ancient past has seen major recent restoration; Babylon, known for its famous Ziggurat (the Biblical Tower of Babel), the Hanging Gardens (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), and the Ishtar Gate, making it a prime destination for tourism. There are many tourist attraction in Nineveh and Ur, one of the early Sumerian cities. All these sites have tremendous archaeological and historic wealth. Iraq is considered to be a potential location for ecotourism, and pilgrimage as people make pilgrimage to holy Shia sites near Karbala and Najaf.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Since it was founded, Kolak Group has displayed her love, respect, and care to the host communities and the stakeholders with whom she interacts with. Today, this commitment is manifested in a number of Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives relating to the environment, health, local employment, and social welfare of the community. This led to the formation of the Kolak Foundation.
Kolak Foundation
Kolak Organization for Humanitarian Aids was registered in the Directorate of NGOs in Kurdistan region, Iraq. But, Kurk Group has since been a big player for many decades in the social, educational, and health care of their host communities.
The presence of Kolak foundation are seen and felt across Kurdistan region and whole of Republic of Iraq.
