There are many tourist attraction in Nineveh and Ur, one of the early Sumerian cities.
All these sites have tremendous archaeological and historic wealth. Iraq is considered to be a potential location for ecotourism, and pilgrimage as people make pilgrimage to holy Shia sites near Karbala and Najaf.
