It was in Suleymania, Iraq, in the 1920’s that grandfather, Mr. Haji Mohammed Kolak founded the Kolak group in the wholesale food trading and real estate sectors.
Four decades later, in the 1960s, His son, Mr. Haj Faeq Kolak, took the helm of the business with a reputed flour merchant – a “Matahen,” and raised it to a higher level. He broadened the wholesale food trading, expanded the real estate investment section and introduced a new department, the animal feed business.
Then in 2003, the Company began to experience a theatrical and dramatic growth, spearheaded by the grandson, Mr. Saad Faeq Kolak who is a natural leader, and gifted with splendid vision. He took over the business and gave it a global recognition by diversifying it into numerous business sectors and industries including, flour mills, pharmaceutical, can and packaging factories, glass factories, cement factories, Power generating Plants and numerous Real Estate investments.
